Singing style of Myles Kennedy?

A friend of mine played Alter Bridge for me the other day and I fell in love with the singing style of the band's singer - Myles Kennedy.

What functions does he use? To me it sounds like he uses curbing for the soft parts, overdrive on the chorus and possibly belting on the stick? I also think he adds some distortion?
Help me out here guys, I'm new to the whole "Complete Singing Technique" concept.

He's one of my favorites as well!! I've sung a couple of his songs, and you are right about the functions, although you need to twang the overdrive so much that's it's almost belting.

You also need to add vocal breaks (check the chorus on Broken Wings)
You also need creaks, a bit of distortion, but the key is TWANG THE F**K OUT OF IT!!

good vocals, I`m no expert myself, but it sounds a bit like overdrive to me... in the low parts a bit curbing, and the high parts are a bit metalic...(is this his "path"??)

please do corect me if i `m wrong (I wanna learn!)

Even though it's an old post, I wondered if a CVT tutor could comment on this please? Myles Kennedy sings with Slash a lot so does all the old Guns n Roses tunes very well.

The sound is thin and focused and he never looks like he is pushing for any of it.
