How much support is needed

Postby bertramlevaughn » Sat Feb 28, 2015 12:02 pm

I'm just wondering how much support is needed to make sounds like this?
First of all I can't come to close to the power and range of these singers but the little sound that I'm able to make I'm having to use a tremendous amount of support and I can't see myself having to support so hard and perform at the same time if I ever get better and making that sound. Does the support get easier with time are will it continue to be as much effort as it is now?
Also am I right in assuminthat the sounds being made are neutral?

Support takes effort but it's not excessive like lifting weights or something. If you're putting in a lot of effort and it's not helping it's probably incorrect.

Everything here is Neutral but in the very high part, which usually will cost quite a lot.
Keeping very fast vibrations usually requires work and finetuning of the setting in the vocal tract, but to say "how much" is impossible.
This comes down to the individual and his/hers skill level/discipline/anatomy etc.
And, though I know what you mean, support is a balance and we cannot have too much or too little balance.
But generally these notes will cost a lot :-)
