Teaching Children

Postby Kees Meerman » Thu Aug 08, 2013 12:54 pm

In the book I read that Cathrin advices not to teach children technical skills. As it will mostly confuse them or sabotage their natural way of singing / breathing.

Right now I'm teaching a 9 year old girl who has talent. But she's just a bit hoarse, also when speaking, and she sings and speaks with a lot of air.

I see her breathing in so highly and I really want to adress that.
Also she does classical ballet and I'm pretty sure that some of the tensions come from there, as they often speak about sucking in the belly.

My question; what can and can't I teach children.

Thx for taking the time!
